The factory-correct royal blue is exactly right color for this convertible. But it takes more than paint alone to pull off this classy image. And what's really great about these convertibles are the bumpers. Oldsmobile was one of the best at designing them so that they were works of art that fit seamlessly into the design. So it's great to see these chrome kings fitting tight, and looking mirror-like. The rest of the brightwork is equally nicely presented with the grille, headlight surrounds, and wire wheel covers making for a great total package. Beneath the bright white top is a matching interior. So we're quite confident that this is just the product of careful preservation. Or, fold down the driver armrest and the driver gets a zip code worth of individual comfort. But what really makes this one special is the power windows and power top. Oldsmobile people know that a rocket 350 cubic-inch motor is something very special. Olds manufactured their own v8 engines during this era, and they shared no major components with the chevy version. Thanks to its higher nickel content in the iron block, the motor has proven to be virtually indestructible out in the real world. It has a distinctive sound all its own, a sophisticated undertone that makes this v8 hypnotic. This is the original numbers-matching powerplant, and it's nicely presented with gold paint on the engine, original air cleaner, and a lot of correct components that say someone loved to drive it. In fact, this one is a definite driver thanks to features such as power steering, power brakes w/discs up front, and a three-speed automatic transmission.
